How to host your own private games with DotaCash bots
« on: 2010 06, 14, 03:57:36 AM »
Note: you can also host through DotaCash Client (DCC).  Type "!pub gamename " or "!priv gamename" into the chat window to have your game hosted.  Download DCC here: http://www.dotacash.com/forums/information/dcclient-x-new-dotacash-gaming-client-created-by-zephyrix***/

1, you have to be a registered member of DotaCash. you may register by clicking the link below.

http://www.dotacash.com/forums/register/

2, after registering an account, you have to validate your battle.net account, goto the link below and follow its instructions.

http://www.dotacash.com/index.php?p=mystats

3, log onto battle.net, join channel "clan cash" and type "!pub gamename" or "!priv gamename", keep the gamename short and unique for now. If there are bots available to host your game, your game will be hosted immediately. If not, you will be placed in queue. You must stay in the channel and wait for the announcement by the bot that your game is being created.

4, once you see the game creation announcement. goto custom games list, and type in the gamename and join.

5, spoofcheck with the bot when asked.

6, recreate the game with the desired name by typing "!pub DotaCash apem us/ca LC!" <-- IMPORTANT: you must include DotaCash as part of the game name at this point, or your hosting privilege will be revoked.

7, set the gamemode to whatever you advertise your game to be by typing "!hcl apem". replace "apem" with whatever mode you want, arem, ap, ar, cm. etc.

8, once the game is filled, you may start the game by typing "!start", or "!start force"

Also, study the list of bot commands. link is below.

Well seing as your account is already validated. Just join clan cash on east or west and type !priv "gamename".
Your game will be added to queue and will go up once it reaches the top of the list. Then simply join your game, spoof check, and enter the necesary commands.

Usual commands
!swap "1 6" will swap slot 1 with slot 6 player
!open 1 3 7 will open slots 1, 3, and 7
!hcl "ap" will set the mode to ap
!autostart "10" to start the game when there's 10 players (!close 11 12 if you don't want observers)
!start force if someone can't spoof check

I am a bit confused.

Step 3 has you create a game. Then you join the game in step 4. Then step 6 has you recreate the game? Why? Isn't the game already created? Why do I need to recreate it?

thanks,

RID

Recreate the game as in Rename the game name, No one is going to join a pub game called "UBC" so rename it to !pub DotACash -RD US+CA LC #1241 or w.e you want as long as it has dotacash in the name.

ah, ok, so the first time you create is just a placeholder that is easy for you to join. That makes more sense. YAY...Now I can host sp games!

ok, one last question, does the stat tracking bot care if sp is done in game via !hcl arsp or via !sp in the lobby before the game starts? I imagine it probably doesn't care and only uses the end result of the game, but I want to make sure.

thanks,
RID

just a question... i hosted 3 dotacash games last night, they all counted towards win/loss, KDR and all that stuff, they show up in my previous game list, however there has been no ELO increase or decrease from these 3 games so far.. just wondering if i did something wrong to deactivate ELO tracking for these games, or if they are just slow to being updated.. but it has been over 12 hours and am just curious..

It means the channel is full. It has 40 people inside it. This isn't a dotacash issue, it's something that Blizzard has implemented. (Why, I don't know. I think 40 people max per channel is stupid.)

It takes ~1 hour for the bots to sync with the website, so that may be the issue.

Also, are you trying to host with earlcelso @ USWest?

Oh, and BTW: You shouldn't host it as !pub dotacash apem blah blah. You should do !priv earl, then once the game is hosted, join it, spoofcheck, (by typing /r sc), then make it pub by typing !pub DotaCash Apem blah blah. It's just easier that way.
